Chestnut-chocolate ice cream

Combines the warm flavor if chestnut tea with cool, refreshing ice cream...a perfect treat any time of year!

Ice cream churning time: 30 minutes
Serving Size: 8
Ingredients
  • 2 cups heavy cream or whipping cream
  • 1 cup milk (preferably whole milk)
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup chestnut tea (strong-brewed and cooled)
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips or choclate chunks
  • 1/4 cups coarsely chopped chestnuts
Directions
In a mixing bowl whisk the 2 eggs for about 2 minutes until light and fluffy. Gradually whisk in the sugar little by little. Mix in the cream, milk, and tea and blend well. Pour into an ice-cream maker and churn as directed by your specific machine (probably around 30 minutes). Add the chocolate chips and chopped chestnuts 5 minutes before the churning is complete. Transfer to a freezer-safe container and freeze overnight. To serve, you may garnish with more chopped nuts if you desire
