Monkey Chicken

My crock pot favorite with a 'Golden' twist.

Prep Time: 2-4 hours depending on your crock pot setting!
Serving Size: 4
Ingredients
  • 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon dried sage
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1/2 cup of slightly strong (brewed) Golden Monkey tea
  • 1 (2 to 3 pound) broiler/fryer chicken cut up
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1.5 cups chicken broth
Directions
Mix all of the dry ingredience, and coat the chicken pieces with the mixture. Do not throw out the extra dry mixture. In a pan, melt the butter and brown the chicken. Put the chicken in the crockpot, and add about 1/4 cup of the leftover dry mixture to the liquid in the pan. Stir until well mixed and then add the broth and Golden Monkey Tea. Allow the sauce to boil for 1-2 minutes and then pour it over the chicken in the crock. Cook for 2 hours (on high) or 4 hours (on low).
