Pork Chops with Lapsang Souchong Gravy

Very delicious gravy. Very good on hamburger and chicken also. For variation add 1/4 cup sauteed onion and tablespoon of tea grounds to gravy.

Prep Time: One hour.
Serving Size: 4-6
Ingredients
  • 2 heaping tablespoons lapsang souchong tea 1-1/2 cup boiling water
  • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 4-6 pork chops
Directions
Steep tea in water, leave tea in water, set aside to cool.

In a skillet melt butter or margarine over medium heat; add flour to butter and brown to dark brown. Stir frequently, burns easily. Meanwhile fry or broil pork chops. Set aside when done. Strain tea after cooled. Add tea, a little at a time, to flour mixture stirring constantly until desired thickness. Add salt and pepper to taste. Put pork chops into gravy and simmer five minutes.
