Lapsang Veggie Soulburger

This healthy vegetarian burger gives a smokey, blues-style kick that will make an impression!

Prep Time: 5-8 minutes prep time, 10 minutes on each side, baking time.
Serving Size: 4
Ingredients
  • 2 cups black-eyed peas, cooked and drained
  • 1 cup fresh mushrooms, chopped
  • 1/2 cup cubed, cooked cauliflower florets
  • 3 egg whites
  • 2 teaspoons Lapsang Souchong tea
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon horseradish
  • 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • nonstick cooking spray
Directions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl, mash the peas lightly against the side of the bowl. After thoroughly mixing ingredients, pat into 3-4 inch patties. Place burgers on a baking sheet lightly coated with cooking spray. Lightly spray the top of each burger for easy flipping. Bake for 10 minutes or until the burgers are firm on one side, then flip and bake another 10 minutes. Remove immediately. The burgers may be served with blue cheese coleslaw for a great taste sensation.
