Slooow Gunpowder Chai
This is a fabulous way to make a great Chai in your crock-pot.2 h 2
- 8 c. water
- 8-10 tsp. gunpowder tea
- 3/4 c. sugar (1/2 c. if you prefer less sweet)
- 16 whole cloves
- 16 whole cardamom seeds, pods removed (optional)
- 5 cinnamon sticks
- 8 slices of fresh ginger
- 1 c. milk (whole is best)
Combine the water, tea, sugar, cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, and ginger into your crock-pot. Cover and cook on high for 2 hours. Strain the mixture and discard the solids. You can cover and store this chai in the fridge for 2-3 days. Stir in milk just before serving.
Can be served warm or cold. Garnish with a cinnamon stick, and serve with cookies! Enjoy.
