Apple Muffins with Dragonwell Glaze

  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. butter, softened
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. milk
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. allspice
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 1/2 c. peeled, chopped apples
  • 2 tsp. loose Dragonwell Tea
  • 1 c. hot water
  • powdered sugar


Cream together sugar and butter. Add egg and beat well. Stir in milk. In another bowl combine flour, salt, baking powder, and spices. Add egg mixture to flour mixture, and blend just until moistened. Batter will be lumpy. Add apples to batter and blend carefully. Fill well greased muffin tin. Bake at 400°F for 25-30 min. until golden brown. Makes 1 dozen muffins.

Brew tea in water and steep 5 min. Strain and allow to cool completely.

Thin 4 tbsp. of confectioners sugar with brewed Dragonwell Tea, 1 tsp. at a time, to the desired consistency. Spoon glaze over the muffins and enjoy!
