Earl Grey Bread Pudding

Unique bread pudding with the slightly citrusy flavor of Earl Grey

Ingredients

  • 4 c. bread cubes or crust trimmings
  • 4 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 c. half and half, heated
  • 2 tbsp. Earl Grey tea leaves

Directions

Infuse 2 c. hot half and half with 2 tbsp. Earl Grey tea leaves for 20 min. Strain.

Combine eggs, sugar, and bread.

Add tea-infused cream to egg, sugar, and bread mixture; let stand 20 min.

Put in 9"x13" baking dish and bake at 375°F for 30-40 min. or until center is set and top is brown.

Serve hot with vanilla whipped cream.

    I adore bread pudding so I knew I had to try it. Honestly, it was surprisingly good and a great cheat for when you're out of cinnamon or cloves. The taste of earl grey was a bit strong for the pudding but I'm totally going to have to retry this with chai tea!
