Almond Oolong Bread

A simple, delicious bread made easy by using a bread machine. Great at any time of the day with a cup of tea.

  • 2 tsp. yeast
  • 2 1/2 c. bread flour
  • 1 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 tbsp. honey
  • 2 1/2 tbsp. oil
  • 1 1/2 c. hot water
  • 2 tsp. oolong tea leaves
  • 1/4 c. sliced almonds


Brew tea in hot water and let steep 5 min. Strain.

Place the following in a bread machine: yeast, flours, salt, honey, oil, and brewed tea.

Note: Bread machines vary. Some machines need liquids last, while other models need them first. Please check your bread machine directions to find out.

Set to dough setting.

When dough is complete, preheat conventional oven to 400°F.

Shape bread in a 9"x4" loaf pan sprayed with nonstick cooking spray.

Sprinkle sliced almonds on dough.

Bake for 30 min. or until golden brown.
