Tea Glazed Almonds

Delicious, simple, and healthy snack. Good at tea time or anytime you need just a bite of something special.

  • 1 heaping tsp. gunpowder tea leaves
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 c. raw almonds
  • dash salt


Combine sugar, salt, and dry gunpowder tea in mini food processor. Process until sugar and tea are thoroughly mixed and tea is broken into small pieces.

Place almonds and tea/sugar mixture in a large heavy-bottom pan on stovetop. Heat on low-medium, stirring frequently. When sugar begins to melt, lower temperature and keep stirring so that all sides of almonds are coated. When all sugar is melted and almonds are thoroughly coated, turn out onto wax paper and separate almonds. Let almonds cool and dry on the wax paper. This process not only melts the sugar but toasts the almonds. Enjoy!

Prep Time--2 min. (or however long it takes to measure ingredients and process) Cook Time--Approximately 15 min.
