Chai Masala

A warm, spicy masala chai for a chilly, rainy evening.

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup milk or dairy-free alternative
  • 1/2” ginger root or 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves or a few whole cloves
  • Dash of black pepper
  • Dash of cardamom
  • Black tea 1.5 tbsp
  • Sugar/Honey to taste


Add ginger, cloves, pepper, and cardamom to water. Once hot, add tea leaf and bring it to a boil. Steep for 3-5 minutes. Add milk to boiling tea and return to a soft boil. Turn off the stove. Strain immediately and enjoy!
