Mint Chocolate Tea Cookies

rachelmon76 TeaChef Level 1

This is a small invention while trying to combine the delicious aroma of mint tea and my husband's favorite ever: chocolate!

1 h 2

Ingredients

  • 14 tbsp. butter
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 egg
  • 4 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice
  • 2 tsp. mint tea leaves
  • 1 tsp. vanilla sugar
  • 7 oz. semi-sweet chocolate
  • 4 tbsp. butter
  • 3.5 oz. (by weight) heavy cream

Directions

Mix 14 tbsp. butter with sugar.

Add the egg and egg yolk and mix.

Add the mint tea leaves, vanilla, and lemon juice, then mix.

Add the flour in and mix again until you get the perfect dough.

Put the dough in the fridge for at least 30 min. to rest.

Cut dough into small pieces and cook in preheated oven at 350°F for 20 min.

Meanwhile, prepare the chocolate sauce: heat the cream, but not to a boil. Remove from heat and add chocolate and 4 tbsp. butter and mix until you get a nice creamy, and chocolaty composition.

After the cookies are out of the oven and have cooled, pour chocolate sauce on each cookie. Wait 2 hours before serving.
