- 1/4-1/2 c. very strong brewed gunpowder tea, strained
- 1/4 c. hoisin sauce
- 1/2 c. catsup
- 1/4-1/2 c. honey
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped
- 2 scallions, chopped
- 1 tbsp. ginger root, grated
- 2 tbsp. soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp. sesame oil
- You may adjust the honey and tea amounts to your preference. More tea makes a thinner sauce.
Mix all ingredients and heat in a small saucepan until smooth. Do not boil. Allow to cool, then chill overnight in the refrigerator to blend the flavors.
