Lavender Cinnaom Swirl Bread

Red Wolfe TeaChef Level 3

Who doesn't like cinnamon swirl bread? This recipe is surprisingly easy, and adapting the cinnamon sugar mix to your tastes is encouraged.

1 h 16

  • Bread:
  • 2 packs yeast
  • 1/3 cup strong earl grey lavender tea (warm)
  • 1 cup warm whole milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 6 tbsp softened butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Flour. I eyeball, but have at least 5-6 cups
  • Cinnamon Sugar:
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp finely ground earl grey lavender

Dissolve yeast in the tea. Takes about 5 min. Add milk, sugar, eggs, butter, salt, and 3 cups flour. Stir into a smooth dough. Add more flour until it becomes the right dough texture and elastic. Grease a bowl with olive oil, and put the dough ball in it. Let rise somewhere warm until doubled (about an hour). Punch the dough down, then divide in half. Flatten into rectangles, cover with the cinnamon sugar mix, roll up, and put into loaf pans. Bake for 30-35 min at 350. Makes awesome toast.
