Kukicha Steamed Yams

Kukicha and the naturally good taste of honey combined with the unique taste and texture of yams. Delicious!

  • 1 1/2 lb. yams
  • 2 tsp. loose kukicha tea
  • 1 c. water
  • 1 c. honey
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/2 c. butter, softened


Peel and chop yams into bite size pieces. Place in pan with water and bring water to boil. Turn down heat and cover to steam yams for 5 min. Then add kukicha tea to water, and steam an additional 3-5 min. until yams are fork tender. Mix honey, egg yolk, and softened butter. Warm to drizzling consistency. Drizzle over kukicha yams.

Variation: add 1/2 c. chopped walnuts for an added crunch!
