Hojicha Meat Marinade

Serving Size: Enough marinade for 2 servings of meat
  • 1.5 tsp Hojicha tea
  • 1 T fresh, chopped basil
  • 1 T fresh, chopped parsley
  • 2 sprigs of thyme leaves
  • 2 smashed garlic cloves
  • 10 whole peppercorns
  • 1/8 tsp ground pepper
  • 1 T wine (I used a blush cooking wine)
  • 1 T rice vinegar
  • 1/3 C canola or other neutral oil
Mix all ingredients together in a dish or Ziploc bag. Add meat (steak, lamb, pork, etc) and let sit in the refrigerator for several hours (preferably start it marinating the night before, but allow to marinade for at least 4 hours). Grill meat and enjoy.
