Irish Green Beans

Tea twist on my favorite side dish, green beans. Healthy and flavorful.

Prep Time: 15 min.
Serving Size: serves 4
  • 2 tbsp. Irish breakfast tea leaves
  • 2 c. spring water
  • 1 lbs. fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp. olive oil
  • toasted almond slices, optional
Brew tea in 2 c. spring water. Steam green beans in a small amount plain water. While beans are steaming, sauté minced garlic in olive oil until starting to brown. Add brewed tea and simmer with garlic for a few min. Remove beans from steamer and put in a large bowl. Pour garlic-tea marinade over drained beans. Garnish with toasted almond slices, if desired. Serve immediately.
