Sweet and Spicy Kukicha Baked Ham

A sweet and unique way to prepare ham.

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 to 2 lb. cooked ham slice
  • 8 oz. fruit cocktail
  • 1/2 c. fruit cocktail juice
  • 1/2 c. peach schnapps
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. kukicha tea leaves
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp. white pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. garam masala powder
  • 2 whole cloves
  • 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
Directions
Preheat oven to 425°F.
Finely grind all spices and the tea into a powder.
Place ham in a 2-quart casserole dish and put fruit cocktail on top.
Meanwhile bring peach schnapps and fruit cocktail juice to a boil over high heat. Add ground spices. Stir constantly. Heat just long enough for the liquid to start bubbling and turn slightly syrupy, then remove from heat and pour over fruit and ham in casserole dish.
Cover and bake 20 min.
Serve with potato and a vegetable.
